Course Description and/or Objectives (from syllabus):  This course serves as a graduate level introduction to the field of Occupational Health Psychology (OHP). According to the Society for Occupational Health Psychology (www.sohp-online.org), OHP “involves the interdisciplinary partnerships of psychological and occupational health science professionals seeking to improve the quality of working life, and enhance the safety, health, and well-being of workers in all occupations.” The course adopts a scientist-practitioner perspective on these issues, emphasizing theory and research as the necessary foundations of practical efforts to create safer and healthier work organizations. As an introductory seminar, the course provides a broad survey of many topics in OHP in order to provide students with a solid base from which to explore topics of interest in greater depth.
